We're a small handful of former long-time Christians who have been 'deconstructing' our faith for some time. Inspired by the abundance of out-of-context, feel-good, syrupy scripture verse and Christian quote posts on social media; we thought it might be fun to parody them with other Bible verses.

Because the truth is, some Bible verses aren't sweet. Some verses are even offensive to many Christians, but so many people either don't know about them or bury their heads in the sand. Except those in leadership whose wealth is tied to keeping the sheep fat for the slaughter, their motivation for avoiding uncomfortable verses at all costs is different from the congregation.

Our education and experience range from church ministry, international missions, theological seminary, and just a whole lot of time sitting in church getting brainwashed, as well as being surrounded by the faith cultures we were raised in.

We should probably mention that our name and theme is a spoof of the old 'Our Daily Bread' Promise Box. If you had one of those in your home growing up, you might appreciate that tidbit.

So - we've made it our mission to show that these weird and wild passages do in fact exist in the Bible on a massive scale. People can ignore them or do with it what they want, but it doesn't change the fact that there is a whole lot of shit in there, and intellectually honest individuals may want to engage with them.
